MESSENGER.COM- Facebook's new website

Most of us get distracted from our chat while checking the newsfeed updates in facebook.(Often i forget to reply my friends due to the newsfeed). If you're the kind of person who likes more chatting than other things....Then here is a new website for you-  messenger.com

This is a standalone site- just for chatting. It needs facebook account to use it. All your previous conversations are loaded. This site offers many features

• Send pictures, vedios
• Send Stickers
• Make voice calls and vedio calls
• Mute conversations

This webpage is launched shortly after the release of web-service for whatsapp. 

Now the question in my mind is - Will facebook launch application for Desktop platforms??

Activate calling Feature- No invites

WhatsApp's new update brings voice calling feature to all Android users. Currently, to activate voice calling in the messaging app, users had to receive a call from someone who already had the calling feature.Thus it removed the need for inviting friends to call them.

A user has posted a screen shot on PhoneArena that shows the voice calling feature. The images show a third new option titled 'Calls' along with Chats and Contacts tabs. Users can make calls simply by tapping on the Call icon at the top of the screen to all users in the WhatsApp contact list. 

The update is being rolled out slowly and users may receive it in a few days. If you are unable to update to v2.12.19 via the Play Store, you can try downloading the app directly from WhatsApp site

According to reports, iOS and Windows Phone users will also be getting WhatsApp voice calling feature in a few days. WhatsApp calling feature allows you to make voice calls using the internet data, via Wi-Fi or 3G/4G connection. 

WhatsApp had announced the voice calling feature last year and started testing out the feature in January this year. With the new feature the WhatsApp will compete with other popular apps like Viber, Wechat, Hike etc which already have the functionality.

*4 INCOMING CALL FEATURE 

Ever irritated due to continuous calls  while watching a movie in your smatphone? Then Lollipop has a perfect solution.. The incoming calls are floats on the top of the screen and the vedio is paused automatically.

After the call gets over, the vedio continues.

Facebook Lite - Now browse facebook faster with 2g

Nine out of ten smartphones have the facebook app installed. But the facebook app is heavy and it consumes more data . Targeting emerging markets , Facebook franchise has released another app- Facebook Lite.

Though this app is not attractive with animation as its parent app, it occupies less space (252kb only!) in the device and consumes just a little fraction of the RAM. 

This app lets you to see newsfeed , chat , search also has push notification.

The key fact is that it is able run faster even with  2g connections and relatively lower consumption of data than its parent app.
